Open URL to Video or Text to Video from the Pictory home screen. Paste in the URL of your training article, policy page, or knowledge base post — or paste your script or written content directly. Choose a video type (Tutorial, Internal Communication, Explainer, or Training), add supporting context, select your platform and video length, then click Generate Script. Pictory extracts and structures the content into a draft script you can edit before generating the video. Set the aspect ratio (16:9 for LMS and YouTube, 9:16 for mobile, 1:1 for social), select your brand kit, then click Generate Video. Choose a layout theme and Pictory builds the full storyboard and opens the editor.
The left panel shows each scene with editable text. The right panel shows a live preview. The bottom timeline shows scene thumbnails for navigation. Replace visuals in the Visuals tab, swap the voiceover or add your own narration in the Audio tab, apply your brand kit in the Branding tab, and add animated on-screen text overlays using the Text tab. Scene thumbnails support right-click actions: Duplicate, Copy, Paste after, Link with next, and Delete. Click Preview Video to review the full result before exporting.
